ABOUT THE ARTIST
Zun Ei Phyu
Zun Ei is a visual artist, mainly working on paper cutting, playing with layers and lighting and creating installations. She started to paint when she was 10 years old.
After her graduation from medical university, she came back to the arts. Her artworks were already shown in more than ten international exhibitions, such as in Austria, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and Indonesia including two solo exhibitions in Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur, as well as in more than twenty group exhibitions in Myanmar. She also attended artist in residency programs in Bali, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, and Vienna. She self-taught her for more experimental working methods and became attached to paper cutting and installation with shadow and lighting.
For her, art is the platform to interact, exchange experiences and get in dialogue with people. She likes to tell stories through her artworks. Her passion for communication and interaction led her to art therapy studies.

Pure Gold is an exhibition organized by the ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Stuttgart, Germany, which promotes art and cultural exchange in exhibitions, dialogue and conference programs.
